About Tihara Smith

Hi, I'm Tihara! I am a London-based fashion designer, textile artist and author. I have been working with raffia embroidery since 2017, when I first developed the technique for my graduate fashion collection inspired by the Caribbean and Windrush Generation, one outfit of which is now in the London Museum's permanent collection.

Since then, I have taught workshops at the V&A, IWM and Somerset House. In 2026 I published my first book, Raffia Embroidery. I was also selected as one of The King's Foundation 35 Under 35, a network of makers working across craft, heritage and sustainability.

I run all raffia embroidery sessions myself, and I love seeing the calm and joy it brings to people.

We can accommodate group sizes from 8 to 25 people.
