About Dayforce

Independent EmEx review. Not a paid listing.

Best for: Employers with large hourly or shift workforces in the US, Canada, the UK or Australia that want pay, time and HR on one record, with payroll calculated continuously through the pay period.

What it covers

HR, payroll, workforce management (time, attendance, scheduling and labour rules), talent (recruiting, onboarding, performance and compensation), benefits, engagement surveys, social recognition, communications and HR service delivery, all on one platform. Native payroll runs in ten countries, including the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland. Partners cover other countries. Dayforce, formerly Ceridian, is now privately owned by Thoma Bravo.

What it does not do

  • Deep employee listening. Employers that want benchmarking and action tracking add a specialist survey platform.
  • Large recognition programmes with reward catalogues or points schemes.
  • Frontline comms campaigns or an intranet, which need a separate comms tool.
  • Learning content. Dayforce offers development plans, not a full learning platform.
  • Recruiting depth for high-volume hiring.
  • Finance. There is no ERP, so general ledger exports are built or bought.
