Workday HCM
Independent EmEx review. Not a paid listing.
Best for: Large employers, usually 3,000 staff and above, that want HR, payroll and finance on one platform, need native payroll in the UK and US, and have an in-house HR systems team to run it.
What it covers
Core HR, recruiting, onboarding, learning, performance, compensation, benefits, HR help and case management, and skills and talent mobility. Native payroll in six countries (the US, UK, Canada, France, Australia and Ireland) is sold as an add-on. Time and scheduling, Peakon employee listening, planning and Workday Financial Management are separate products on the same data foundation. AI agents are metered through Flex Credits.
What it does not do
- Recognition. No recognition product is named, so buyers add a recognition tool.
- Internal comms and frontline reach. The mobile app covers self-service, not news or campaigns. Buyers add an internal comms or employee app tool.
- Employee listening without Peakon. Buyers who do not buy Peakon use a survey tool.
- Learning content. Buyers still license content libraries.
- Payroll beyond its six native countries, which runs through partners.
- A light entry option for smaller organisations.
Workday Peakon Employee Voice is part of Workday. It is Workday's employee listening product, sold as a separate module, and this review covers it as part of Workday.
