About PlayingON

We are PlayingON, a theatre charity that has spent over a decade bringing the craft of theatre-making into workplaces, much of it alongside the NHS and public sector. We work from a simple idea: that the best way to understand a difficult experience is to step outside it and, from there, to step right inside it, playing it out and looking at it afresh. Our facilitators build safe, genuinely enjoyable spaces where teams can unpick real challenges, hear one another properly and find their own way forward.

We began in 2010 making professional theatre with people who have lived experience of the care, justice and education systems, and the belief underneath that work, that everyone in the room is an expert in their own life, is exactly what we bring to any team we sit down with.

We have worked for over ten years with NHS trusts including East London (ELFT), South London and Maudsley (SLAM) and Camden and Islington, delivering away days and tailored workshops for teams working under real pressure.

We are just as at home with a single team of ten as with a hundred people in a room, and we shape each session around the group in front of us, from a one-off half-day to an ongoing programme, rather than working to a fixed curriculum.
