HOW4

HOW4 is a people analytics platform that maps informal collaboration networks within an organisation, using organisational network analysis (ONA) to show how work actually happens beyond the formal org chart.

The core method is a short, four-question survey completed by employees, which the platform turns into indicators such as cooperation, centrality, betweenness, closeness, density and influence, viewable at organisational, team, group or individual level.

Applications include leadership diagnostics, improving cooperation between teams, supporting digital transformation and M&A integration, informing organisational design decisions such as project allocation, and detecting patterns of unconscious bias or misalignment in how people interact.

The platform is built to run as a single, fast survey rather than a lengthy assessment process, and is used both directly by organisations and as part of consulting projects delivered by external advisers. HOW4 also offers a companion module, HOW Targets, which builds strategy-specific network maps that complement the core analysis.

It is typically adopted as an ongoing software subscription priced per employee, used for a defined project such as a reorganisation or ongoing monitoring of how teams collaborate.
