Groundwork runs corporate employee volunteering programmes across the UK, helping organisations put their community and social value commitments into practice.
Volunteer days are organised through Groundwork's network of local Trusts and can range from a single one-off day to an ongoing programme of events across the year, with projects generally built around environmental and community themes such as creating wildlife habitat, community growing spaces and outdoor restoration work.
Groundwork handles the logistics of each day, briefing volunteers on the project and providing on-site support so staff without prior experience can take part. It currently has volunteering partnerships with organisations including Balfour Beatty, Bupa, Centrica, Deloitte, JLL, Morgan Sindall, NHS Property Services, Pfizer, PwC and Sopra Steria, and reports having involved more than 7,900 volunteers across 184 communities to date.
